The test positivity rate now stands at 12.3 per cent
The number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Bulgaria reached 619,284 after 39,957 tests identified 4,922 newly infected persons on Wednesday, of whom 86.00 per cent are unvaccinated. The test positivity rate now stands at 12.3 per cent.

Sofia City Region tops the list of new cases with 1,232 positive tests, followed by Varna Region with 456 cases and Plovdiv Region with 366 cases.

The active cases are 107,948. Currently, the hospitalized patients number 8,191, including 715 in intensive care. Of the 954 newly hospitalized patients, 89.6 per cent are unvaccinated.

Another 2,382 COVID-19 patients recovered over the last 24 hours, bringing the total to 486,747.

A total of 135 fatalities were reported, of whom 93.3 per cent were unvaccinated, and the death toll now adds up to 24,589.

With 19,553 new inoculations over the last 24 hours, 2,913,044 vaccine doses have been administered so far and 1,538,928 people are fully vaccinated, and 21,747 people have received a booster dose.
